Just like Arma Alpha 3 before it, Kerbal Space Program is a landmark in Early Access success stories. From the outset, developer Squad’s communication about the game’s development is second to none. Updates and response to community feedback is many and not far-in-between. We can only hope that early access developers had this as a common trait.
The core gameplay revolves around constructing rockets, understanding orbital mechanics, and managing resources for deep space missions. The game’s simulation elements educate players on principles of astrophysics, such as gravity assists and delta-v, making complex scientific concepts accessible in an interactive and entertaining way.

With all the high praises this game received, and deservingly so, it’s sequel is kind of a mess right now. Kerbal Space Program 2 faced a significant backlash from fans after its publisher, Take-Two Interactive, announced the shutdown of Intercept Games, the studio behind the game. Following this announcement, players began review-bombing the sequel on Steam, expressing frustration with Take-Two’s handling of the project and the potential impact on the game’s future. This shutdown is part of a broader cost-cutting initiative by Take-Two, which involves downsizing staff and restructuring operations. Despite assurances that the game will continue development under Take-Two’s Private Division, it is all but dead.
